Fighter Rankings

Maybe once enough of us make our voice heard about the need for fighter rankings and the requirement to fight your way up the ladder. Then maybe we can stop the travesty be put on these fighters who put thier blood on the line. How can one fighter come over to the ufc and fight a mid tier fighter and second fight he already has gotten a shot at a title many have fought several times to get. For instant, look at the record Diego Sanchez built against some top tier opponents and yet who ends up with a title shot a tv show reject whom had not the talent to really be there. And this is just one instance of several. Come up with a payscale for the lower tier fighters and move it up to the rankings they can draw say a percent of the events gross.

I love this sport and would hate to see it fall into the dismay which has overtaken boxing. Dana White did a great job of putting it on the map. Unless he is willing to change his ways of handling the fighters he will soon have to be called Dana King. I know he loves the sport and I don't think this is intentional, But something has to change,Because the fighters are starting to look like a piece of meat being eaten alive by the money belt wearing suits behind the scenes. Already the negative lobbing forces are beginning to build force. So lets all who love this sport band together and save it.

I do want it clear that I take my hat off to each and every fighter whom has the courage to step into the cage. This is my way of paying forward the things they do to entertain each of us. A ranking system is seeming the only way a fighter is going to be gaurenteed a title shot if he keeps winning.

I plead with Dana White and all the other controling person's to please begin work on a ranking system. Let boxing be the example and proof of what happens when things don't get handled right. Boxing is a dying sport because of greed and fighters such as Mayweather. Make a ranking system in you have to work up....and only the nomber 1 fighter gets the shot..unless persay an injury leaves an openning for the no# 2 man....
